I Pezzi Dipinti

Yesterday I visited Cathryn Collins of I Pezzi Dipinti at her Soho based atelier. Cathryn designs a stunning range of cashmere shawls and throws which are hand loomed in India. It was all I could do not to constantly touch all the pieces around me.

classic and beautiful

There's something so chic and timeless about Cathryn's designs, but also about the woman herself. Perhaps it's something to do with her having lived in Italy!

After spending what some might call 'much too long' pouring over these swatches of embroidery thread, I found myself even more astounded by Cathryn's ability to select and combine colors for her garments. And, this doesn't include the colors she has custom made.

Color!

collection

Cathryn has a real sensitivity to the types of colors that people wear and surround themselves with. When you look at her textiles, you can see that the inspiration for her color and pattern decisions derive not only from her background working with furniture, but also from her amazing collection of intricate jewelry and objects.

Bailey

Bailey, who works with Cathryn, also has an incredible eye for color. Not to mention an incredible knack for remembering colors by their names, and their ID numbers.

Care is important. So important, Cathryn even made a short video for their website that demonstrates the best way to fold your beautiful cashmere shawl.

Now, that's real love.
