Speaking of marble, what does world-renowned architect David Adjaye have to say?
Ask Adjaye
As we were researching marble in contemporary design for our latest story, Rock On!, I reached out to my friend David Adjaye to see what insights he could offer. Forever eloquent and thoughtful, here’s how this world-renowned architect approaches marble in his own award-winning work:
“I have a deep interest in geology and culture. Marble is a material that speaks to place and has a distinct context in architecture. It is a material that connects us to the very history of our planet, and for that I find it timeless and compelling.”
Here are a few shots showing how delicious marble can be in this master’s capable hands, taken from his 2012 interior for Proenza Schouler in Manhattan.
