African Design

This week, it's all about African design. We're so excited to see that the mainstream design conversation is finally opening up to embrace a continent that's been so long overlooked. We've got tons of African design content coming your way all week—on the blog, in our shop, PLUS a new feature on famed South African artist-potter Hylton Nel.

To start things off, we're taking a walk down memory lane to a story from Wava and Ambra's springtime trip to Botswana: To The Source. Thanks to designer-editor-entrepreneur Peter Mabeo, the ladies made a special visit to the Okavango Delta to meet the Etsha weavers, who are recognized to be among the very best basket-weaving artisans on the continent–and true masters of their craft. Click here to read the full piece, and check out some highlight photos below.

Stay tuned for more African design love all week, and happy exploring!
