19 Greek Street & Sketch

Our team visit to 19 Greek Street yesterday was really energizing. The gallery’s current show, Wonderland: A Design Fairytale, is exactly as its title might suggest, with everything from ceramic robot lamps to colorful thread-wrapped furniture and tilted tables and chairs. It's a close call, but I think I have to say it, this has been my favorite show so far!

The Analogia Project, a hanging installation by designer Andrea Mancuso and architect Emilia Serra, was just incredible. Made from black wool "sketched" onto a web of transparent threads, I couldn't get over how much it looked like a floating sketch, even though I could see it hanging in front of me.

After 19 Greek Street, Tatjana and I took a break from the rain with a super lovely afternoon tea at Sketch, a charming restaurant/café/gallery space set in a converted 18th century building on Conduit Street. We warmed up in “The Glade,” a dreamy woodland bar whose eclectic décor includes a hand-cut, découpage wallpaper forest. It was a perfect treat for us both.
